Work Planner / Technical Draftsman entry level

Alphen aan den Rijn

Are you at the start of your career and eager to gain hands-on experience in engineering? Do you enjoy working on real projects and want to keep developing yourself within a small, close-knit team? Then this is your chance to grow with VAKO Transport Systems.

About VAKO Transport Systems

VAKO Transport Systems B.V. designs and manufactures high-quality covering systems and container loading and unloading systems, both stationary and mobile. We also develop hydraulic constructions in steel, aluminium, and stainless steel for customers nationally and internationally.

Our projects are highly diverse. We work for clients in agriculture and horticulture, civil engineering, and the bulk processing industry. That means: variety, technical challenges, and plenty of learning opportunities.

What will you do?

As a Work Planner / Technical Draftsman, you are the connecting link between sales, engineering, and the workshop. You’ll contribute to projects from start to finish and get the space to truly learn the trade.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Creating and developing technical 3D drawings
  • Project preparation (bills of materials, components, planning)
  • Contributing ideas for technical solutions and improvements
  • Maintaining documentation and project administration
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers about parts and delivery times
  • Processing orders and spare parts

Don’t worry if you can’t do everything yet — we provide guidance and a thorough onboarding period.

Who are you?

You’re curious, technically minded, and eager to learn. You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you take initiative.

You recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have an MBO or HBO qualification (or nearly completed) in a technical field
  • You have an affinity for engineering and constructions
  • You have basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD or Inventor)
  • You work accurately and in a structured manner
  • You communicate easily and aren’t afraid to ask questions
  • Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus, but not essential
  • Recent graduates and career starters are very welcome

What do we offer you?

  • A great workplace in an enthusiastic and informal team
  • Good guidance and room to learn and grow
  • A competitive salary based on education and experience
  • Opportunities for training and courses
  • Employment conditions according to the Metal & Technology Collective Labour Agreement
