Customer & Situation
A Dutch agricultural transport company operating a fleet of tippers needed reliable cover systems to protect their cargo during transport. They transport various agricultural products that require protection from weather and contamination.
The Challenge
The existing cover solutions were heavy, difficult to operate, and required frequent maintenance. Drivers were spending too much time manually handling covers, and the systems were prone to failure in demanding conditions.
The customer needed a lightweight, durable, and easy-to-operate solution that could withstand daily use in agricultural environments.
Our Solution
VAKO designed and manufactured a fleet of CS-MK aluminium cover systems, customized to fit the customer's existing tipper trailers. The systems feature lightweight aluminium construction with electric operation for easy one-person use.
Special attention was given to sealing and weather protection, ensuring the cargo remains protected in all conditions.
The Process
The project involved surveying the existing fleet, designing custom mounting solutions, and manufacturing 12 complete cover systems. Installation was scheduled to minimize downtime for the customer's operations.
Each vehicle received on-site installation, and all drivers were trained on proper operation and basic maintenance.
Result & Impact
The new cover systems have dramatically improved operational efficiency. Cover operation time has been reduced from several minutes to under 30 seconds per vehicle.
The lightweight aluminium construction has also improved fuel efficiency across the fleet, and the customer reports zero cover-related breakdowns since installation.
